About CTEN

"EdmondNicolau" Technical High School is the second sized public vocational high school of Vrancea county with more than 80 teachers and 900 young students from 14 to 20 years old and adult learners +25 who attend evening classes after leaving school without any diploma or professional qualification. The main activities are according to the national curriculum for secondary education, both theoretical and technical specialisations. There are 5 classes for Maths and intensive IT where students (having more than 10 IT classes per week) are well prepared in C/C++ , Pascal programming and coding.

The vocational part of education covers about 8 technical classes per academic year where students study both theoretical and practice subjects such as mechanics, CAD Computer Aided Design, electronics, mechatronics, electrics and so on. Since its beginning the school has been  establishing partnerships with local private companies which can assure the students' apprenticeship so young people easily integrate into the labour market. All students learn two foreign languages, English and French and take IT lessons in the school computer labs. Our high school is certified as a national centre for ECDL European Computer Driving License, a certification for digital skills.      Students obtain professional certificates according to the domain they have followed during the 4 academic years. These professional certificates allow young people to be qualified workers all over the European Union and beyond the common space.

Being a national centre for the final examination required after finishing the secondary education, Colegiul Tehnic " Edmond Nicolau " is the place where students from our institution and some more local high schools pass the national exams called baccalaureate  - the equivalent to the A+ levels. All over the year, the teaching staff involves students in extracurricular activities whose aim is the personal development of our students. The students willing to play a sport can join our school teams for basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess or football within the sports club. Every year students participate in local and national competitions.

Since September 2015 our school hosts the local Excellency Centre for Robotics and the team accompanied by an engineer teacher participated in November 2015 in the World Robotic Olympiad organised in Quatar winning the certificate of excellence for innovative technology, for project "DendroRobot"
